Last preparations on our local glaciers
21.10.2011
Hi guys,
a month ago we went back from our training in Argentina and till now we’ve absolved other three units of training on different glaciers here in the Alps.
In Argentina we had bad luck with weather and snow conditions!! Moreover I had problems with my back and so it wasn't possible to participate at more than 10 days of training. After our reentry we were able to eliminate the problem and now I’m free of ache, thank God! Until now we unfortunately haven’t had the possibility to make a good training on hard snow or icy slopes. But I’m optimistic and I hope that we can absolve some more units before we are going to leave for the races in America!!
The World Cup Opening at Sölden I will comfortably watch on TV, by the way I can check out how strong the competitors in this year will be... :-))
Only one month left to my first race in this season!!
Can’t wait…
See you,
Domme
Summer training & Argentina 2011
16.08.2011
Hi to everybody,
well, it has passed long time since I’ve told you latest news. But now I’m going to start with my snow training and so I will keep you informed regularly.
Immediately after end of season we continued with the tests of the new material to start well equipped into the next season. After this long and hard season I allowed myself a break, a few days of holiday brought me new power to be able to abolve an efficient summer training.
The last three months I only did hard condi training to be physically fit for the new season!! On August 20th I’m going to leave to Ushuaia (Argentina) with the rest of the speed team, where we start with the snow training. We will stay there for about four weeks and I hope that we have luck with the weather conditions. Only in this case we are able to absolve a good and efficient preparation for next winter.
Yeahh, I'm looking forward to our training at Ushuaia!
I will keep you informed about the first training units!!
Greetings,

World Championship - GAP 2011 is over...
15.02.2011
Hi to everybody,
for me, since yesterday, the World Championship has been over… Initially I would like to congratulate my ski colleagues, Christof and Peter, to their extraordinary performances at Gap 2011!!
Unfortunately my own performance was not that good. After a poor performance in the downhill I also failed in the super combined. The super combined downhill run was not so bad and I've had a quite good starting position in the slalom still to go for a medal. But then my skis entangled on a gate and the race was over… that's too bad!!!
But nevertheless, my participation at the World Championship was a good and important experience! I tried to give all my best, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough! But such experiences/failures bring to me the necessary motivations to fight on and on...
In the next days I will be at home, just relaxing… And I will surely go for free skiing at the Schwemmalm, before we have to leave for the next races.
Bye,
Domme
News from the World Championship - GAP 2011
12.02.2011
Hi guys,
since Monday I’ve been at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we are doing the last preparations for the downhill of the World Championship. The first training was fantastic (third best time) and therefore I was convinced, that with this snow conditions I would be able to make a really good race. But the actual conditions changed due to the warm temperatures. The first part of the slope was in a quite good state, but the lower part of it was soft and “soapy”… So it was very difficult, especially for all those who have had a high starting number, to make a good race and to get a good result. In the upper part I delivered a really good performance, but then I lost more and more time ... Unfortunately it was not sufficient for a good position.
I‘m not very satisfied with my performance, but I know that I did my best…. On Monday it will take place the super combined and there I’m going to attack again. I hope I will do it better….
See you,
Domme
My first podium - Chamonix (FRA)
31.01.2011
Hello all togheter,
what a great weekend for me!!!!
Well, what shall I say to this??? I’m so extremely happy; I can still not believe this second place in the downhill race!!! I did a perfect race, but initially I didn’t believe in a podium… Despite the big success I had to suffer a little loss…I had to shave off my beard! Last year I’ve bet with one of my trainers: When I have my first podium I will shave myself again!!
The next day, in the super combined, I did a great job again and I’m really happy with the 7th place. In the downhill I was not able to repeat my performance from the previous day, but I did a great slalom, which brought me forward at least 3 places!!! With these results I managed the qualification for the World Championships in Garmisch!!!
It was just a great weekend for me!!! Thanks so much for congratulating me and thanks to everybody who shared the joy of this wonderful position with me!!! Now I’m off for a few days… Before we are leaving for Garmisch, we are going to Hinterstoder for one more Super-G.
I will keep you well informed,
bye Domme
Kitzbühel (AU)
25.01.2011
Hi guys,
the great weekend at Kitzbühel is over!
Analysis:
With the result of the Super G at Kitzbühel I’m quite satisfied, because I was able to make my first points in this discipline. The most difficult downhill course of the season I finished as 25th, just as I did last year!! When I arrived at the finish, I was not necessarily satisfied with the result, but then, when I saw the serious crash of my colleague, Siegmar Klotz, I was happy to have finished the race uninjured. This year’s course on the Streif was very difficult. Moreover everybody has had in its mind the crash of the Austrian skier Hans Grugger in the first training. These are some of the reasons why you get big respect for the slope and sometimes a little bit of fear, too!
The next day I also participated in the super combined, but there I was not able to finish the race. In the second manche I can’t find the right sensations. But on the whole I can say that I’m satisfied with my overall performance this weekend.
On Wednesday I’m in Piemonte to do some slalom units, afterwards we are leaving for Chamonix, France.
I keep you informed,
Domme
Super combined and downhill at Wengen
16.01.2011
Hi guys,
I’m back home, but for two days only!! …on Tuesday we are leaving for Kitzbühel.
This year’s world cup-weekend at Wengen was not a really good one, at least not for me!!! In the super combined I crashed into the safety mat at the Brüggli-S. Up to there I’ve had a very good intermediary time, but unfortunately the race was over… Thank God, the crash was not so terrible; I only have a bad contusion on my back. At this time I had no idea if I would be able to run the downhill on the next day. But the pain was not as strong as expected; therefore I decided to participate at the race!! In the first part of the downhill course I’ve had good intermediary times again, but in the central part of the course I've had some tricky mistakes and so I crossed the finish line as 25th...
I’m not satisfied with the results, but on the other hand I was able to turn back with additional points. Kitzbühel is providing the next chance; I will do all my best to exploit it!!
Bye Dominik
2nd training in Wengen
12.01.2011
So, the second training on the Lauberhorn slope is done!! I’m very happy because I did two very good training runs, now I’m highly motivated for the races on Friday and Saturday! Unfortunately the training run for tomorrow has been cancelled because of the bad weather forecasts.
Let's wait and see what is going to happens this weekend... I will do my very best!!
Greetings from Wengen,
Domme
First news from Wengen (CH)
09.01.2011
Hi to everybody,
I’ve been in Wengen, Switzerland, since Thursday, where I did two super g races (European Cup)!! The results were both under my personal expectations, but it’s not so bad... I see the two runs more as a preparation for the next world cup races!! I hope I can gain a profit to have already done some races on the next week’s downhill course.
As preparation for the super combined I’m going to do some slalom training at Adelboden the next days, and on Tuesday it will finally take place the first downhill training run!!
Further news from Wengen are coming soon…
Best wishes,
Domme
Downhill race at Bormio – well done!
31.12.2010
Hi guys,
in the downhill race at Bormio I did a really good job! With this good position I can start highly motivated into the New Year and naturally to the next races in Wengen! On January 7th and 8th I will participate at two super g races (European Cup) and afterwards I will do some further preparation regarding the World Cup weekend in Wengen! But beforehand I'm going to complete some training units at the Schwemmalm, our local ski area!
I wish you all a good start into the New Year and all the best!!!

Home races in Val Gardena
23.12.2010
Hello,
unfortunately I was not able to get some worldcup points in Val Gardena, like I did last year!!
I’m satisfied with the super-g, although I’m out of the top-30 due to one place. The race was really good, but I know that I can do better!! Also in the downhill I expected to get some points, but no chance… Actually I thought that I’ve managed a very good race, but I didn’t. I was driving too slow!
Oh dear! ... but now Val Gardena is over and after Christmas we are leaving for Bormio!! New day, new chance...
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and some thoughtful days!!
Dominik
Looking back to the races in America
07.12.2010
Hi,
I'm back home…
After the overseas-tour I don’t have to tell you a lot, because the results weren’t as good as I hoped. I only got two world cup points in the downhill of Lake Louise! The weekend in Beaver Creek was a little disaster; the downhill race was even cancelled because of too strong wind and in the super-g I couldn’t finish the race.
What a pity, but I will continue to fight to take the lead once… The next stop will be Val Gardena! This week I’m at home, I will relax a bit and maybe I go to the Schwemmalm for free skiing. At the end of the week we are going to do some training units, so that I’m well prepared to attack in Val Gardena!!
Best wishes,
Domme
News from Beaver Creek – USA
30.11.2010
Hi,
last week took place the downhill and the super-g in Lake Louise and it was the official start in the new World Cup season 2010-2011!!!
My personal start in the new season was not so bad; at least I was able to get two points in the downhill race. In the super-g I was not able to reach the top-30, I’ve had a high starting number and therefore it was difficult to make a good result. But I have had very good intermediary times and so I’m highly motivated for the next races.
Now I’m in Beaver Creek and there we are going to run the next two races. Let’s have a look, if I can manage a top-30 result again…
I’ll keep you informed,
Bye Domme
News from Lake Louise – Canada
26.11.2010
Hi to everybody,
the second training day is over, but without training run! It was too windy…
The first training run was quite good; I was able to get an idea of the course and how I can manage it best. Tomorrow we have another training run and there I will try hard to be ready for the two races. The slope is in a perfect condition, well prepared, icy and I think that it will be very fast.
I hope that the weather is going to be good; the rest will comes up by itself. At the moment I don’t have more information; and we will see soon if I’m in a good form or not…. ;-)
Bye Domme
Training in Bormio – Italy
07.11.2010
Hi guys,
now some information about my actual training program. At the moment we stay at Bormio to do the last preparations before we are leaving for America. The training conditions are very good and I’m very satisfied with my actual form. This week I’m still at home, but on Monday 15 we are leaving for Canada. There we will do some more training units before the first races are going to start, hopefully with good results for me… But this we will see soon. ;-)
I will keep you informed about my sensations and the training results as soon as the first training units are done…
See you soon,
Domme
Training in Tignes– France
18.10.2010
Hi to everybody,
since a few weeks we have been back in Italy and I’ve already done some training sessions on the Passo Stelvio. The training conditions over there were perfect, because all the days we have had beautiful weather. I’ve done much work on giant slalom and slalom; I’m very happy because I could return with good results.
This week we do our training on the glacier of Tignes (France); unfortunately at the moment we don’t have other possibilities to practice on snow. Nevertheless Tignes offers great conditions to practice the fast disciplines like Downhill and Super-G. The course is very fast and icy and also very irregular. The course has a length of quite a minute and so we have an optimal preparation regarding the first races. At the moment the weather is bad, unfortunately we do not have influence on that. All in all I feel well and competitive, but if course conditions are going to be similar like those we have at the moment, I have to do some more work!! However, I’m very confident, because we still have a little bit of time before the first races (America) are going to start.
Best wishes,
Domme
Training in Ushuaia – Argentina
28.08.2010
Hi,
since about 6 days I have been to Ushuaia (Argentina) where we finally started with the snow training for the next season. The preparations during the summer were good and physically I feel fantastic. Now, after the first days working with the new material of Nordica, I’ve developed very good sensations. The training conditions at Ushuaia are perfect and I hope I will profit during the new season.
I’m very confident about it… :-)
But what the new season will definitively bring, we will see soon… hahaha
